Is There Such A Thing As An Indestructible Dog Toy?

A reader ..
Our little puppy has more toys than I did as a kid. Every one of them is certain parts of their bodies. Some are missing eyes, ears, and noses. If we could find a toy that he could maul and it wouldnt fall apart or the eyes wouldnt pop off?

There is no “indestrucible” dog toy. However, Kong’s will give ’em a run for their money.

    I wish there was!
Try buying him a hard toy such as a kong. He’ll like to fetch it and it’s a little harder to chew to pieces.

There are no completely indestructable dog toys that can outlast a puppys teeth. Just get him some good hard bones form the pet store ( they are awesome for teething) they last a really long time

puppies should not have toys that have eyes, noses, etc. they swallow them and could choke. Get rawhide or those big rope chews. I know puppies like squeaky toys, but not good for small dogs and puppies

Kongs are as close as it gets.
By the way, don’t give a puppy toys with hard parts or squeekers he can get out – puppies tend to swallow stuff like this.
Stick to kongs and pig hoofs on a rope.

kong brand dog toys are about as good as it gets.
avoid toys that are stuffed, have removable parts(ie:eyes and noses, buttons, ext.)
rawhide is just a tasty treat that lasts a day or two that will rip thru their guts.

Agree, KONG’s ar they way to go – I have 2 teething Staffy pups and as any staffy owner knows – they’ll chew through anything, KONGS have held up really well.
Dont’ ever give your dog anything with a squeeker or eyes / noses etc that could come off and be inhaled / injested

Puppies shouldn’t have those string toys that the strings come off of. My dog had one of those and he had to have surgery because the string got wraped around his tounge and he kept on swalloing. Other ones with out the string that COME OFF should be okay. Check them

PLEASE DON’T GET RAW HIDE!! It can be very dangous for puppies. small pieces they bite off can get stuck in their throat. ONLY it your monitoring him while he’s eating something like that should you consider it.
Kongs are very good there are some that you can even put treats inside and it’ll keep him busy for a while.

If your puppy is a major chewer, the Kong is a good bet. But make sure you get the black Kong, not the red. (The black one is the more heavy duty variety.)
My 2 year old Weimaraner can chew through almost anything…toys and bones never last him for more than a week (if they even last 1 day). Someone suggested the black Kong to me and it has worked wonders. He has had the same one for 3 months, and it still shows no signs of damage. Amazing!

I found online this website about an indestructible dog toy, which is a ball that claims to be “gorilla tough”. I am planning on buying this toy for my German Shepherd whenever she is tired of her other million toys. Here is the link

The KONG is the best kind of chew toy for any dog my Lab and German Shepherd can destroy a toy within minutes of getting it but ever since we got the KONG for the both of them it’s lasted for 2 years for them both it doesn’t crack or rip…it’s a hard rubber made for dogs with excessive chewing and you can put treats inside to have your dog entertained for a good 30 minutes.
