Terriers are known to bark often. But you can hire a pro trainer to help! Good luck!

Jack Russel Terriers are barkers and chewers and not very friendly with people other than the owner so don’t.
Yorkshire Terriers seem to be perfect for aparment living and easy to train. They are very loving and sweet.

Small terriers are loud, energetic, love to be outdoors, and can be wary and nippy around strangers. A toy breed might be good for you, but not a terrier- something like a Maltese, Shih Tzu, Cavalier spaniel, etc. would be a better option than a terrier.

Toys and terriers are two different groups of dogs.
Terriers (for the most part) are generally very energetic and can be quite yappy. Bad for an apartment.
Toys, on the other hand, are typically considered to be very good apartment dogs.
Bichon Frise, Pug, Lhasa Apso, and big kind of lazier breed such as the Clumber Spaniel and Bassett Hound are all considered to be good dogs for apartment life.

Whenever your neighbors walk by your front door, do expect your terrier to bark and bark and bark… Make sure your neighbours won’t complain about the noise.
