Most of the people get to experience some challenges of behavior with their dogs every now and then. The good thing is that with some patience and understanding, such problems can be solved with Australian shepherd training.
Aussies are in fact energetic, hardworking, intelligent, alert and loyal. They do have weird intelligence with extraordinary guarding and herding instincts. The Australian shepherd enjoys a reputation for being extremely active, determined and bossy. Some of the owners think that in order to make your Aussie in line, you need to be more controlling, determined and bossier. Owners should always be one step ahead of them so that they know their place within the family. It means other members of family will need to become familiar with the rules and be compatible with their commands.
The training of Australian shepherd dog is a part of the working towards a cooperative and respectful relationship between your dog and you. It has also got to do with controlling your dogs mind set and not the dog itself. If you do not let your dog know who is boss, then you may get a many behavioral issues and they will start to control you. Some of the behavioral traits which crop up are jumping up, stool eating, instinctive herding and controlling of your family members and you, digging, begging, mouthing, barking and destructive chewing.
The training of Australian shepherd works on positive reinforcement. Working negatively can put the dog on edge and possibly aggravate the problem. Most of the dogs do not understand what it is that they have done wrong as they do not know the correct thing to do. The ruse is to introduce them the right thing and then give them reward for doing so. If you perceive visually your doing something, which they should not do, then you must use a vociferous voice for distracting him and guide him to do what his should do. At last, do not forget to reward him.
Aussies are social dogs and they are not meant to live alone. Going to the park to play or going to training or just helping by pursuing you around the yard or house keeps them active and working. Focus on body and mind activities in order to keep them occupied. They love any activities, which revolve around herding. This keeps your Aussie physically and mentally satisfied. As a result, your Aussie will shun bad or aggressive behavior.
