Verrrry nice looking point. I have 2 female GSP's. A solid black that is a healthy 9.5 years young(you know they stay 1 yr old for balance of their life). The other one is the bomb literally at 6 months old today. Both dogs are contract dogs. email me for them pointing & exercising pics. By the way,  Ki moon has already pointed 5 out of 4 planted quail on a crisp fall mooring at 4 months old

I tried this with my GSP as he ran beside the 4 wheeler, phone said 27mph, they are amazing dogs, I love mine to death.

That's not even close.  A GSP running flat out will have its rear paws coming up in front of its chest.  If they are separated from their primary person and released, they will often run flat out to get to them.  They will go flat out to retrieve a bird if they think another dog is going to get there first.  Running them next to or behind vehicles is a dangerous and uncaring way to clock them so I appreciate your method.  Longer leg examples can often run up to 45mph for a short distance of a couple hundred yards.  The uncanny way they can run a pheasant down in a wheat field is amazing to watch.  The ability to follow a scent and turn at a amazing rate is unmatched, all from a dog that is an exceptional pet too.

My 68 lb white and black GSP is capable of running next to my bike at 35mph and towing me in rough dirt to a steady 30mph. We believe he could hit 40mph but it's hard on his nails/pad.

    Great dogs!

My 51 lb 1 1/2 year old Black and White GSP thinks he's the fastest dog around.  He does out run, almost every dog he chases, or gets chased by.  He ran into a pack of wind hounds, and was proven slow.  Still, he kept up with them.  Great dogs.
