my chews and sometimes swallows rock, literally rocks. why would he do this and how can i get him to stop. he has chipped and broken teeth already and is only 5 yrs old.

    keep him away from rocks – it may tear his intestines and require and expensive surgery or it could kill him.

    keep him away from things like that my dog use to do that all the time she would eat staples and plastic and she had so many surgery’s she couldn’t take it anymore and we had to put her to sleep so keep him away from anything of the sort

  1. Perhaps you could get a couple of marrow bones from your Butcher. Ask him for the middle shin pieces. Scatter these around on the gravel and he will probably prefer them to rocks. Once he has licked all the marrow out you can keep refreshing the bones by pushing some hard cheese in the middle or smearing peanut butter inside.
    The bones may take his mind off chewing the rocks.
    I too have a gravel driveway and this is what I do for my dogs.
