Clicker Training Review

Would you like to Become a Super Trainer?

I saw a tragic event one morning when I was walking my dog off leash. He was galavanting with another group of three dogs, a collie and two goldens. Rigby is a water dog, and I mean fanatical, as were the others, the only trouble was, their owner didn’t want them to go for a dip…. You can imagine what occurred, the gang were in the water and loving it!

Their master tried calling them out and when they felt it was time to get out, to my shock… they got belted, after that the dogs would not come near their master, and who would be suprised. Rigby on the other hand came and sat beside me quaking. At the time he was still quite young, so what was the difference?

We had been using Clicker Training by then for about 8 weeks and though still in the beginning stages, Rigby’s understanding of our instructions was very clear and he knew that if he played the game, he would get a treat or some scrumbles. We still see the others on the odd occasion but their master still twigged!

’ was our first serious introduction to commencing Clicker training, this superb publication is by far the most informative guide to the Clicker Training technique. It’s authority has also been employed by other professional animal trainers:

It is compulsory reading for Guide Dog for the Blind Instructors in California

The techniques are used for training Search & Rescue Dogs and Military Patrol Dogs

Clicker Training is often used in training marine Mammals

Many progressive Dog Trainers use it for Corrective Behavior Training

But this publication is not primarily for professional trainers, it is a wonderful manual for everyone who would love to own a well educated dog; a they are proud of.

The authors of  ‘The 4 Secrets of Becoming a Supertrainer’ have been heavily into dog educators for a long time, so this is not the work of a academic, it is grounded on well researched values and never uses any sort of admonishment.

The instructions are clear and simple, well laid out and you will quickly implement the training routines. The experienced trainers will also find a wide variety of ideas they can integrate into their existing regimes.

I doesn’t  matter what animal you own, they will all respond to the clicker system, you will be amazed how you can adapt the instructions to your own training challenge.
