The is an AKC registered dog breed. The following article reviews the breed.

Poodles of all sizes, are some of the most popular dogs in many countries, including the United Sates. It’s no surprise then, that poodle stuffed are equally as popular. With their curl-like plush fur and alert, friendly faces, poodle stuffed are a real treat for lovers of plush toys.

Poodles have had a long and varied past, descending originally from German gundogs, known as pudels, which were used to retrieve game from water. In the 1500’s Poodles were also extremely popular in Russia and France France recognized them as their national dog. In the 19th century, the appealing looks and trainibility of Poodles made them a useful addition to the entourage of French circuses. Later, they emerged from the entertainment business to become the world’s most popular pets.

Poodles are easily recognized due to their unique fur when short, it curls close to their bodies., though it can also be short and wavy. And, since their hair grows indefinitely, it must be regularly cut and groomed. There are various ‘standard’ clippings that are used when a Poodle is groomed, the most familiar being the Poodle show clip. There is also the puppy clip, continental clip, English saddle clip, and pet clip. Clipping of the Poodle dates back to the days when they were a working and sporting dog; parts of their fur was shaved so as to make swimming easier and to ensure their fur didn’t get tangled. The other parts of the Poodle that weren’t short, were left intact for warmth. In addition, Poodles that wear ribbons in their top knots on the top of their heads are believed to have worn [the ribbon] so they could be easily identified while in the water. To achieve the desired look for a Poodle, a professional dog groomer is really the only way to go when it comes to clipping a Poodle’s fur. While it may not look very complex, there is lots more involved than most realize.

Another unique feature to the Poodle breed is that unlike most other breeds of dog, Poodles don’t shed; for those that suffer from allergies, Poodles are a wonderful alternative to the dogs that do ‘lose’ their coats on a daily basis. And, of course, shedding isn’t an issue with Poodle stuffed animals, just as they will never require any kind of professional . There is no denying that there are some wonderful advantages to choosing a Poodle over the real thing.

The three recognized sizes of a poodle are Standard, Miniature, and Toy. Toy Poodles usually weigh less than 10 pounds, Miniature Poodles are 12-25 pounds, and Standard Poodles are 40-75 pounds. Online stores offer a two foot tall black poodle (what would be considered the Standard Poodle) stuffed animal that is so lifelike, at first glance you might not know if it’s the real thing or not. For those that prefer their plush a little smaller, poodle stuffed animals are available in every size imaginable.

The kennel club is utterly disgraceful. They believe they are entitled to
set the standards for every breed, even if this means abusing animals. They
merely take the appearance into consideration. Some of the modern breeds
have grave health issues and yet the kennel club has decided to ignore this
matter, since it has no influence on the visual aspects of the dog.

The AKC doesn’t set breed standards! The breed clubs do. The AKC
registers(files) the pedigrees of pure bred dogs. Not perfect specimen show
dogs! Just the offspring of two dogs who are also registered pure bred
dogs. They can be undersized, oversized, fat, skinny, lame, doesn’t matter.
A Show Dog is a titled animal fitting the Breed Standard and has to be
judge for that standard to earn the title of Champion. If you see Ch.
Before the name of the parents your pedigree has for the puppy you bought,
that means you have Champion blood in the lines. This means your puppy is
more then likely high quality and is not a backyard bred dog of lesser

Dog shows aren’t meant to be cruel and I honestly think they aren’t. Sure,
the grooming may be a little wild, but it doesn’t harm the dogs when they
are groomed. And yes, they may be tugged at a bit by their leashes near the
throats but it isn’t enough to hurt them, it is enough to control them, so
they don’t control you. When I was about 9, my mother treated my dog like a
human, better than me if you will. Whenever he begged for something, he got
it. Eventually I began to train him to stack just for the fun of it, and
she thought I was harming him. But I wasn’t. Not unless the person
physically is seen harming the dog. Sure some of the dogs may not think it
is that fun, but it isn’t hurting them, and they usually get a good treat
    out of it anyway.

I agree with Bree….but there is a continued mutilation and
mis-representation of standard poodles. Tails cropped and deco-designed
clips that have nothing to do with this all-in-one dog. It just scares
potential dog owners off. I had to be given one to learn how fantastic this
breed is. I though I lost my man card for awhile. But Crunchy and later
    Trixie both proved that wrong.

So hard to find a poodle with a natural tail…;( what’s the point of
getting the dog without its tail? These shows are rude and for money? Any
form of using animals for entertainment is wrong. And France is the country
you don’t see them cutting ears tails ect. When will this dumb practice
stop? Its there for a reason. And last when it comes to selling these dogs
y can’t that be a choice of the owner. I cannot have a dog missing a tail.
I would be filled with shame/embarrassment of what people would think for
the looks cut it off or old practices that clearly we don’t do anymore. For
god sake animal looks sad as a newborn and till adult hood.
