Question by jonny: Is anyone breeding miniature labrador retrievers?
I know there is no official “miniature labrador retriever”, but is anyone out there trying to breed smaller labs? I have a female black lab (both parents are registered labs) who is really small. She should be 40lbs MAX 45lbs when shes full grown. Shes 6 months old right now and about 34lbs. I am not sure if i want to breed her, but if someone is trying to breed small labs, she might be able to help. people always want smaller versions of large dogs.
just because my dog is much smaller than usual doesnt mean shes unhealthy. she has no health problems (so far). selecting smaller size dogs to breed is not irresponsible if the dogs are heathly. not everyone wants (or can have) a huge dog.

Labradors have already ”shrunk” from their original size…….do you realize that the original Labradors were around 100lbs? I wish they'd stop shrinking everything….
