Vicious dog attacks woman walking dog in SW Denver

A , loose attacked a woman walking a dog in southwest Denver on Friday morning, injuring the woman and killing her dog, police said.

The incident happened about 9 a.m. in the 1800 block of South Patton Court, said , a spokesman.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene and the woman was treated for injuries, White said. Further details on the injuries were not available. Her name was not released.

Officers found the vicious dog nearby, White said.

The dog made “very aggressive moves…one officer fired, striking the vicious dog in the shoulder,” White said.

The dog is in custody of the , White said.

Investigators are trying to determine who owns the dog.
