"Rescued" is our favorite breed.
Compared to a number of others on the market, this pet door was extrememly easy to install (note – remove the door from the frame during cutting/fitting) and looks very nice when assembled. My large orange cat figured it out in no time and now I can keep the cat box out in the attached garage, away from the dog and off my inside carpet. Very convenient.

One of my two cats has managed to get quite large, and I noticed he was having a hard time getting through the standard sized cat door. Before anyone rips on me for the reasons my cat got so large, I can say that I feed my two cats no more than they’re supposed to eat. He’s just a large cat. Since my cats are indoor cats, I have their door installed in the door that leads to the basement where their litter box is so I don’t have to leave the door cracked open. The door works great, and I can lock them in the basement when I’m doing something I don’t want them around for like painting, company etc. My cats have to be around us all the time for some reason, and some times it’s just not convenient.
This is a great cat/small dog door. It allows you to set the door 4 different ways: 1) opens both ways; 2) locked both ways; 3) only opens into the house; and 4) only opens out of the house. It is much more attractive than other similarly priced cat doors. We have been using it for a while and it is holding up quite well. Magnets hold the door closed, so the wind doesn’t blow it open, but my cats don’t have to push as hard to open it as they did with another door — which is a plus because my cats didn’t like having to push hard — so it is probably easier to train cats to use this door than harder-to-open doors. I’ll buy this door whenever I need to add a cat door.
