Developed through selective breeding of the small Australian Shepherd, the Miniature Australian Shepherd is well-renowned for their skills in dog agility and other dog sports such as obedience, herding, disc dog, and other activities. Their height range between 14-18 inches at the withers, and weigh from 17-35 pounds at the average.
The double-coated Miniature Australian Shepherd has weather resistant topcoat with moderate length and slightly wavy. The inner coat is dense and short. The hair on their head, outside the ears, front of forelegs have straight to wavy hair. There are featherings on the back of their forelegs. Their coat color comes in black or red tri-color, red or blue merle and black; all of which have white or tan markings.
The energetic Miniature Australian Shepherd requires long walks on a daily basis. This little breed requires a great deal of vigorous exercise to keep fit, or better yet, a real job to work on.
