The puppy shot in the leg with a crossbow has a new home.
A family from the Four Corners area has adopted the puppy, which had been dubbed “Bow,” the La Plata County Humane Society said Friday in a news release.
“I'm very glad Bow was able to find the home he deserves, but we are still full with animals that are just as deserving to finding homes of their own” chris nelson, the director of Animal Services at LPCHS, said in a statement.
The 3-month-old Jack Russell-shepherd mix pup was found in Shiprock, N.M., with an arrow from a crossbow in his hind leg. He was taken to the farmington animal shelter where surgery was performed to remove the bolt.
The stray was then taken in by the La Plata County Humane Society, because of the Farmington shelter's large population of animals.
New Mexico authorities are still looking for those who are responsible for Bow's injury.
