jennifer lopez and boyfriend casper smart have welcomed a new addition to their family … and he's furry.
The 43-year-old performer and her boyfriend have adopted a puppy named Bear, according to the pair's social media accounts.
“Introducing the new addition to the family…. ‘BEAR' #WelcomeHome #Happy @JLo,” Smart Tweeted on January 17, along with a photo of the puppy (See below).
The pop sensation re-Tweeted his message on her own Twitter account, adding: “So Happy! LilBabyBear. Could get confusing Lol.”
The pair started dating in November 2011, following her high-profile split from ex-husband Marc Anthony. The dancer, who has performed with Lopez at past award shows and events, also appeared in her April 2012 music video for her song “Dance Again” (Watch it here).
In January, the “Waiting for Tonight” singer opened up about her romance with Smart, and also talked about their highly-publicized age difference.
“I just got out of a big, heavy, devastating thing, and he's helped me heal,” she told People magazine about the dancer. “He's been there for me.”
“I ask him, ‘Why don't you go find a young girlfriend and get out of here? What do you want with me?' And you think, ‘How long is this gonna be?' You think, ‘Okay, in 10 years I'm going to be like this and you're going to be like that' and … men at that age are … I think all different things,” she continued. “The truth is we don't know what's going to happen. We're loving this moment right now. We make each other happy.”
Lopez has been married twice before but has no other children other than her and Anthony's twins. She and Ojani Noa were married between 1997 and 1998. Lopez wed actor and dance choreographer Cris Judd in 2001. They divorced in 2003. She also dated Ben Affleck starting in 2002 and the two became engaged later that year. The couple broke up in 2004 due to media attention.
Lopez is set to appear alongside Jason Statham in the upcoming crime thriller “Parker,” which is set for release on January 25. The film follows a thief who is double-crossed by his crew and left for dead. With a new disguise and an unlikely alliance with a woman on the inside (Lopez), he looks to hijack the score of the crew's latest heist.
