I have 2 Golden's and we use the vet ear cleaner$ . I'm looking for something as not a$ pricey and effective.

i use a q-tip and don't stick it in the actual ear. i just clean the wax that builds up in the little folds of the outer ear.
i wouldn't risk messing up the dog's ear with a DIY… just like you probably wouldn't risk it on yourself.
