This is , pictured at in Co. Carlow. She has a friendly, but compelling gaze.

This was taken just days before this train station closed forever on 1 April 1963.

Thanks to Flying Snail for the information that "This photo was featured on a BBC railway walk series about 15 years ago in which Mrs Lawlor was interviewed" and apparently Mrs Lawlor was described as being the last "halt keeper."

    Lovely portrait of the station, fortunately it still survives. This photo was featured on a BBC railway walk series about 15 years ago in which Mrs Lawlor was interviewed (not sure if she is still around today), I tried to recreate the image myself when I visited Borris.
