I feel the boys in the left background were stable boys and not as fortunate as the boy with the dogs.
I can imagine the sounds of these hounds as they are taken on a hunt shortly after this photo was taken. With the master proudly mounted on the horse, whose boot is barely seen, I am sure he commands all with just the boom of his voice.
