Question by Tabitha: What are the names of the of a plier style /trimmer ?
I do know how to cut my dogs nails, but i need to know for a project I am doing what are the parts of a plier style of dog clippers. I have searched all over the internet and see pictures of clippers but none say what the actual names of the parts are like “handle. etc. I need to know the official name of the parts. Help please?

    Best I could do. I know this is not the *plier* type. I searched the web for 20 minutes.

    You can figure out some of it from the pictures:
    They all have a handle.
    They all have a spring to return them to open position after a clipping motion.
    They all have a lock to lock them in closed position
    They all have blades which do the clipping.
    They have a bolt that acts as a fulcrum so the blades cut.
    Some of them have a barrier to prevent you from clipping deeper than about 1/8th or 1/16th of an inch at a time.

    If you want the “official names” of the parts, the LAST place you should be asking is here at YA. You should visit the manufacturers’ websites and ASK THE PEOPLE who MAKE the clippers. -!-
