Yarn is too weak to use for collars leashes and toys. You can make sweaters or dog clothes out of it.
What do you think? Answer below!

i was so happy when I tried doing this and it worked out perfect in making these leashes, now I can sit on the couch and watch TV as I'm making a leash, so much faster and no mess! “Yippee!”

I see that you cut the bag in thirds and just use the sides. What do you use the middle piece for? Is is just waste?
I use the middle piece in the leash also, I just add it in with the white strips. There is very little waste thank goodness! 🙂
Backround sound so fcking annoying :S I CANT LISTEN IT !!!
I love this ! Not sure if I follow the knotting method but I can study it some more and figure it out. It is a great project, as you said, for the rescuers and transporters of dogs. Money is always so tight for them and free stuff is always so welcomed and appreciated. Many thanks for a great project.

I don’t understand if you’re braiding or doing a macrame square knot (I think that’s what it’s called). Could you clarify please for those of us that don’t get it :o)
It’s a macrame square knot, I don’t think a braid would work, thank you for asking! 🙂
I love this!!!
This leash is fantastic ! For so many reasons…super economical – the only cost is the hook, saves the landfill, easy to do and you dont need to glue or deal with long reams of connected bags..therefore no hooking it up high and standing while working on it. Super duper ! THANK YOU for recording & posting. Very much appreciated.
Thank you Mukwah1111.
Love this idea! Is this strong enough for a German Shepherd?
Thank you! Yes it is, just be sure to make the knots tight. 🙂
Thank you!

HI
I don’t think you can make a very good leash with yarn, but you certainly can make a fun toy for your pet from yarn.
Here is some ways to make dog toys:

Yarn is too elastic for dog leashes or collars. It would stretch enough to come off, and endanger the dog.
However, dog-shaped yarn dogs are popular with dog lovers, especially if they can’t have a real dog.
I’ll star this question for my friends, who may have good ideas for you.
Thank you for caring enough to raise money for an animal charity!
