When you put it on him, if he doesn’t like and it chews on it and tries to get it off, give him little pieces of treats the entire time he has it on, but don’t leave it on for a long time, then slowly he will get the message that wearing the coat is a good thing, not a bad one, also make sure it fits him correctly, because if it is too small it will be uncomfortable, the same method can be applied to the doggy booties. Good Luck

Dont make your dog suffer that is just rude but if you want him to have a miserable life then just put it on him before he goes to bed!!But I warn you your dog will be sad!!

well when it gets cold, you should just gently put a sweater over him. little dogs really should wear clothing outside in cold weather.

dont torture the poor dog…if anything just stick with a sweater when taking it outside..
dressing a dog up in jackets and boots is just mean…

You can just keep putting them on and wait until the dog finally gets used to it, but if he doesn’t like it, it’s not fair to keep him in them. Think of how much torture it would be if you had a jacket or boots on that you didn’t want to wear but you had no way to take them off.

I don’t think there is any skill needed to ‘use’ a jacket…they just wear it. Just put it on him and have him wear it. If he doesn’t like it and rolls around and bites at it and tries to get it off, but you really WANT him to like it, then don’t take it off of him until he stops fighting to get it off. Once he accepts the jacket on him, then you can take it off and he will eventually learn that if he behaves in the jacket, the jacket will (at some point in time) come off of him.

The same goes for the booties.
