Q&A: Can I cut my dog's nails with regular toe nail clippers?

My are really long and I don’t have the money to get or take her to get clipped. I was wonder if I could take regular clippers that I use ot be very careful and trim her nails down little by little until they are a good size. And please don’t yell at me if I can’t! I just wanted to know.

Yes, that’s what I do, just make sure your careful with not cutting them too close to the vain of the nail.

    If your dog is big you’re eventually going to need to get clippers for her. If you let the nails grow too long, the quick also grows long, and it’ll be difficult to clip her nails without cutting them too short. Clippers are only a few bucks online, so forgo a couple of fast food meals and take care of your dog properly! =)

    If the dog is a small dog and the nail fits, go for it.

    Well you can, but you need to be extremely carefully because you might hurt the dogs nail, just be careful when you do it!(:
