But that’s even worse! He got bitten, and if he is encouraging this kind of confrontation for the owner (and owners at home), then people with much less experience than him will be putting themselves in dangerous situations! He has experience avoiding dog bites, but people who try this in their home (including children who watch the show with their parents) are increasing the chances of being bitten.

And if mgsbo14 actually had a degree in animal behavior, they would know that Cesar’s theories are based on an outdated and fundamentally flawed study of captive wolves done 40 years ago, that even the original researchers in the study have dismissed. And that dogs have been deviating from wild wolves for at least 15,000 years, and wild dogs do not act like wild wolves. Stand tall, science-friend.

Australia here, My son and his fiancee, have Staffy’s. His is older, and trained, by him, (against my approval with a heavy hand at times), but they got a puppy that was not training well, and my son’s fiancee was not going to let him train her, so they got an animal behaviouralist in, as well as going to puppy school. It has cost them $ 300, a one off payment, but the person will come back indefinately for that price, to make sure the dog is improving with her training.

You have to use a strong voice with bigger dogs as well, and food treats if they do what you tell them. I am sure you can get someone with similar skills to the “Dog Whisperer”, I love watching him, if you do as well, try some of his techniques on your dog. You have to let her know that you are TOP Dog, ALPHA bitch (if you are female) and leader of the pack in your house.

    Good luck and blessings

if you live in the USA you have to sign up you can do this by writing to the man himself try his website. there is about a 2,000 people long wainting list so good luck with that.

you may be able to find a behaviourist that is just as good. i live in the UK and have found someone that is just as good he gave us great tips on controlling our dominant terrier.

watch his shows and contact a specialist before you try any techniques to make sure you use the right ones correctly

i wish you all the luck cesar milan “the dog whisperer” is great.

I have an even better suggestion…look up Dog Listeners….Jan Fennel is the founder of the organisation and author of many books on dog training. Jan Fennel adapted her method after watching Monty Roberts (Famous Horse Whisperer) work with horses. I am currently studying her methods in college and they are fantastic. Cesar Millans method is different from hers but a lot of the little tips and tricks he gives are a little bit similar. It is worth giving her a call or looking up her website. A dog listener may also be alot easier to get hold of, as there are many of them, versus one Cesar Milan!!!!

    Here’s the info…

According to the site, they are only looking for people in Houston, TX.. or southern CA.. so if you’re not in those areas, you’re out of luck.

however, you’d have better luck looking in your phone book and contacting a local trainer or behavoiralist..

hire someone who actually knows what they are doing, instead of hoping an entertainer will respond to you out of the thousands of people who contact him.

You will be able to find a much more qualified trainer in your area for a heck of allot cheaper than he would charge for his quick fixes. Contact some Dog obedience schools or Behaviorist some will come to your home

The liklihood of him actually coming to your house is pretty slim. He gets thousands of requests from people. You should go online, or ask around for good dog trainers in your area. Ask what training methods that they use, and possibly ask to see them in action.
