    Well, that is very untrue. If you have a big yard and a dog loving to run and you aren’t an idiot owner that wants the dog to A. Run Away, and or B. Get hit by a car. Sadly this demonstrates poorly on what happens with dogs. A dog does it once and learns from going out, humans are stupid and do it over and over again.

    I see dogs that became totally afraid of even going out of the house because they got shocked and now they traumatized from going outside.
    You may want the dog to learn from not passing X point, but the dog may just learn to not go out at all to avoid the shock.
