Pets are becoming more and more an integral part of the modern family life. In fact, in 1957, pet expenditure placed 49th in the weekly expenditure list in the UK. In 2007, this figure changed to 37th – placing it, surprisingly to some, ahead of cakes, cosmetics and holidays. These figures speak for themselves and demonstrate that pets are rising in the position held within ones family.
It is horrible but possible that our pets may become ill and possibly need medication. As we want to protect our pets we will look for ways in which we can help. If you should find yourself in the position of your dog being diagnosed with a medical condition you may wonder what exactly it is you can do to help protect them. One way is to protect them with the use of a Medical Pet Dog id tag. These tags will let strangers know that your pet has a medical condition. These tags are double sided so you can include extra information on the reverse or simply include your telephone number or even the vets telephone number. These tags can contain information such as; I'm Deaf, I'm Blind, Medication Needed, I Have Allergies, I Have A Heart Condition, I Have Diabetes, I Have Arthritis and many more. In the event that your dog goes missing, the hope is that strangers will read the pet tag and take them to the vets in order to get the medication that they so clearly need.
These Pet ID Tags can also be used to inform people that you have a working dog. You may wish to politely let members of the public know that your dog is trained to do a certain job. This could help with unwanted attention or help people understand the relationship between you and your dog. Again, these tags are double sided so you can include extra information on the reverse. These tags can contain information such as; Guide Dog, Hearing Dog, Service Dog, Assistance Dog, In Training, Autism Dog, Seizure Alert Dog & many more.
So, whilst finding out your pet has a medical issue can be very upsetting and daunting, there are options out there designed to help in situations like these. Help keep your dog safe with a Medical Dog Tag and have peace of mind that strangers would be armed with the all important message should your dog ever go for walkies and get lost.
