buy one!! don’t be a cheapskate. plus how would you get it on him if he bites? or just wear a jacket while you’re training him so he won’t bite your arms. or take him to dog training classes. petco has them.

You’re not after a muzzle you are looking for a halti. These can be replicated with another (soft) leash (but not something very fabricy or metal both are classed as hard leads). Think soft leather puppy leads and hook around your dogs snout. This is as effective as a halti but please be warned that people attempting to use a halti/halti type lead system often find it ineffective as you need education on how to use them.

No, don’t use a muzzle to leash train your dog! Your dog needs to pant!

Purchase a Gentle Leader. It looks like a muzzle but is not at all! It comes with a dvd that will teach you to train your dog to walk with you.

Another good product is Halti Harness. It hooks in the front, which turns your dog around if he gets out ahead of you.

We don’t like those reel type leashes for walking a dog. We don’t like pinch collars, either, nor choke chains (most people don’t know how to use them properly and choke the dog as he keeps right on pulling and coughing.)

The only time a dog is muzzled is for medical treatment when he’s trying to bite, and if a struggle ensues, it’s released. A dog has to breathe.

A muzzle would only cause your dog to paw at the muzzle and perhaps get his toenails caught in it. He will roll all over the ground and possibly pass out on you. So don’t do that, okay?
