Question by e2fusion: Is their no as a dog ?
Is their no such thing as a good ? Because every kind I have bought sucks. I am running out of options.
I also have a sheltie, What size harness would be good for a dog that size?
I am looking for comfort and not to train.

Answer by Mutt for the Truth
Try regular obedience training.

Most harnesses encourage pulling and the rest dogs can easily ignore or wiggle out of. Harnesses are merely tools and tools to not train dogs. PEOPLE train dogs.

I bought a yorkie from YooHee. She could no longer afford to feed him. Where did you buy it from?

I use a Buddy Belt on my lab mix and she no longer pulls. They are expensive, but work. And as for the training everyone is talking about, my dog has been through training and she still has a tendency to pull.

    (I bought mine on ebay)

Harnesses were made to help dogs pull. So of course it isn’t going to help!

Try a prong collar to train your dog.

ETA> Ok, then you should try a Halti Headcollar.

What are you using the harness for? It’s no substitute for training. It’s a tool, just like anything else.

    The Premier harnesses are excellent.

Thank you to whoever put the thumbs down — what was *that* about?!?!?

As you probably know, shelties come in a variety of sizes, so it’s impossible to say what size your dog needs. Harnesses generally are sized by the measurement around the “waist”. If there is a Petco or Petsmart in your area, take your dog there and try some harnesses on. You may not want to buy any of these, but it will give you an idea of size.

I have a Guardian Gear harness for my Sheltie. Their heads are smaller than their necks, so collars just slip right off them, then you have an empty leash on your hands!

I got it at PetSmart (reasonable price, lots of colors to choose from). You just open the clip, have your pooch step into the loops, and fasten it over their back. Simple and effective!

What are you using it for? If you’re using it in place of a collar, it’s not going to work. You have no control.
