Question by Friend: What is the best dog kennel in the st. louis, mo area for a small dog?
My friend and I are going to Jamaica in March and she wants to find a great but not expensive kennel for her weiner dog, Buddy. He is a very pampered pooch and will need to go somewhere that can accomodate this. He will have to be able to bring his own toys too.

Are you and your friend going to a cheap resort? If not, why is the cost of her pet’s vacation even a factor?
Look in your phone book for kennel(s) that are affiliated with the Pet Care Services Association (formerly American Boarding Kennels Association). This is a trade organization specifically interested in improving the perception of the boarding industry, and client relations. You can call and find out what they do for pets that stay with them.
A boarding facility is safer than home care, as the animal will be under the watchful eye of pet professionals. Also, in a home care situation, the pet may run away and not “come” to the person sitting them.
