More stylish authors can choose reflective leashes which are also ideal for dog walking at night. For owners trying to train their dogs to follow their commands, some manufacturers offer leads and leashes designed to control lunging and pulling.
There are also extending training leashes made of more than 12 feet of material and designed for training at a tracking field. In competitions, it is necessary to lead the dog in place with a short slip lead that can be easily removed and replaced to allow the dogs free movement to showcase their talents.
Owners should choose the proper dog leashes and leads to use on their pets. For general use, these should be long enough to allow the dog freedom to explore the paths they tread but should be short enough not to easily reach other dog walkers or pedestrians.
