Question by trifreak: subaru outback dog gate Strange Slanted Slot?
Just bought an Outback and got the dog gate/compartment separator. Just wondering if anyone knows what the slot is for on the right hand side. Looked everywhere and could not find an answer.

I don't know what year Outback you have so this one may be different. See the photo in the link below (a 2011 model) – there is a slanted slot (looks like a chute) that allows the center rear passenger shoulder belt to pass through. The dog gate is slotted al the way to the right hand side so it can be installed around the belt.
