Okay, before I ask, I only my dog when it is cold. I will admit, I did dress him up for Halloween. Other than that he only gets sweaters and such. I was wondering where everyone gets their dog clothes in stores? I know Walmart, Pet-stores but they seem to be a little overpriced, and just recently I saw some in JoAnn Fabrics.

I spoil my dog…. seriously. Sometimes I feel I spend more money on him than on myself! Anyways, I used to buy him stuff from those expensive boutiques around downtown LA. But now I found this seller on Amazon. They have really cute pet clothes at great prices. For example, I used to pay easily $ 40-$ 50 for Duke & Princess stuff. This seller has the same thing for less than half off! I like these ones:

    Reindeer: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002UVXWF2
    Pink Bunny: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002URF9AC

I am going to get my puppy a tuxedo because my friend said I can bring him to her wedding. He’s gonna be so cute!

    Anyways, hope this helps!

I live in Northern Idaho, it gets cold and very snowy here, so I do dress my dogs in the winter. I just bought a sweater for our dachshund at Wal Mart, very reasonably priced at $ 5. I also bought a sweatshirt for my westie online at http://ppepetsupplies.net, they have good prices & reasonable shipping charges and they have sales quite often.

Besides Walmart and pet stores like PetSmart, I dont really have any other suggestions besides ordering online at Amazon. I know they get pricey, but if you just buy something once a month or something, it won’t seem so bad.

My Yorkie’s have an assortment of sweat-shirts, jackets, sweaters, and rain and hooded snow gear for the cold of late fall until the spring time. I have these items as they do not have an undercoat for protection and they are prone to bronchial/pneumonia problems. Not to mention that they are simply cold! I purchases them all over. Good old Wal-Mart has them for $ 5 up, Petsmart has great sales at end of season, Tuesday Morning has a pet selection; lot’s of it on clearance, too. Many pet-shops carry a complete line of clothing, and there are many boutiques devoted to accessories and clothing for dogs. There are thousands of dog clothes for sale on line. That is fun…looking at all of the wonderful selections. I do not dress them up unless the weather calls for it, I have enough laundry to do without adding more. Oh, not to mention a good reason for protecting the long haired dog’s coats is, more drying, brushing, and trying to get ice-balls out of the underarm and belly area. I tried boots for the icy times, but they either kicked or bit them off! Happy Shopping, Angel Wolf 13

Pet edge and Petsmart have decent prices and various sizes. Pet Edge is really cheap but adds a fee for orders under $ 60 cuz it’s a wholesale place so I save up and place an order of treats, meds & winter jackets at the same time.

OK. I have to be a smart alec first and then I will answer your question. But you have to admit that question, before you read all of it might bring some images to mind. So smart alec part: I think I am going to take my dog to NYC and do the fashion shows. Don’t want her teased after all and I do want her to marry well. Now for a serious answer. I know a lot of people do not buy putting anything on your dog but if your dog lives inside with you, when it is really cold and you go for a walk he is not used to that weather and his coat has grown based on the atmosphere. So he may need a sweater. And some people pamper and groom their pups till they look ridiculous and they need a sweater too cause all their fur has been chopped off. I agree with grooming before anyone jumps on me, but some of that…well… if you cut the dogs hair he is going to need some warmth from the cold. So I see why you get him a sweater. And what I would do is try Learning to make them myself. Now I am a big dude and I don’t knit but my ex wife did and it looks fairly easy. That would be the best bargain, give you a hobby and it would be more personal for your dog. If you have a couple you can use, then you have enough to have time to make one. My ex wife actually did those things pretty fast for her Chihuahua. You didn’t say what kind of dog you have. OH. My daughter also told me you may be able to find some at fabric shops where they teach knitting. I don’t know if they would be cheaper though. Also do a look on line. EBay and Amazon have things like that and sometimes they are cheaper. Just depends on whose selling and if they are trying to get rich or not.

Whether you are looking for practical dog clothes function or different fashion apparel, you may find more unique wardrobe styles online.

I did some research to find just that. If price is a concern, check out the clearance sections on the websites suggested here:

http://www.dog.com has some reasonably priced dog clothing. Especially when things go on clearance.

Real dog abuse is letting your 5 lb poodle go outside without clothes on in -40 degree weather in MN. I guess the person above me supports hypothermia in dogs. Maybe it makes them stronger. Who knows?
