if all you dog freaks would take the time to read the caption, it states that the photo is cataloged with the name scottish terrier, but that more than likely its a skye or cairn. cant rename the photo just because the original photographer got it wrong.

Given this photo is 74 years old, breeds change due to todays breeding methods by "mills" and trends in what is desired in a breed.
SO a scottish terrier with a specificity of either a cairn or Skye.

Also, the length of coat is more in keeping with the Skye then with the Cairn Terrier.
I have a Cairn.. and I would say that dog is a Skye Terrier.. because it looks too big to be a Cairn.. and it also looks to have a longer body like the Skyes do. Although it is difficult to know for certain as the child stands in front of the dog’s body.
But it could be a Skye Cairn cross.

This pretty liitle canine is undoubtedly a Cairn Terrier as I have been breeding them for a wee while now! I have three that are similar to the one pictured although mine are stripped! by the by Any Good? Scottish Terriers are not always black you can get wheaten ones aswell!! Just as pretty!!
Think it’s a Cairn terrier from Scotland. Scottish terriers are always jet black.
