A reader asked..
I have a black dog. I of like how black leashes, collars, and harnesses blend into him, but I kind of like how other colors stand out on him. What do you like better for your dog? Collars, leashes, and harnesses that stand out? Or ones that blend in?

I like ones that stand out! My favorites on white dogs are blue and on black dogs I like red/hotpink!

Persnonally I like color! My girl dog has a hot pink collar and my boy dog has a bright green one.

I like to get matching leads when I can…I don’t think the dog cares, but I just like to be a little wild.

I like ones that stand out. Eli is black but his collar is red. He has a black leash and a red & black braided one.

Molly’s collar is brown, so, I guess it sort of blends in. Her leash is turquoise with brown polka dots, so, it stands out.

It depends on my mood.I have several collars for each of my dogs and switch them when I am tired of looking at the one they are wearing.

I’m very picky when it comes to that. It really depends on the shaping and structure of the dog, as well as the color of the fur.

Max is white and apricot colored, and all other colors (save for black) look goofy on him. He has a silver and black lead, though. Even his halti is black! 🙂

Roxy is black, gold, and white. She’s short, and we don’t want to draw attention to her size, so she has a black collar and lead.

Sparky is completely black, with gray “age high-lights”, and he has a red collar with silver flashy paw prints, and a red lead.

its probably good to have one that stands out since he is black…… he might get out one night and someone driving might not see him but if he has a bright or colorful collar, harness, etc it could possibly save his life!

I like ones that stand out, but it really doesn’t matter too much. As long as your pet loves you! For example, I got matching leashes and colors. My girls had diamonds on it. (fake of course) and my boy dog’s had dog bones on it. (pictures)

Have fun with your best friend!

Collars really don’t matter on my dog because he has so much fur you can’t even see it. Leashes however I like to stand out I’m now using a bright orange one because hunting season + I take him for walks at night so I need him to stand out. 8)

I have a golden retriever…and I like her collars and leashes to match (like sets) and usually, I’ll match them to something I wear or use. Right now, her collar is black patent leather crocidile like my purse. However, she also wears a camoflauge collar and leash (and matching poop bag holder) that match my camo crocs.

I like bright colored collars and leashes and stand out.

I don’t like them to clash with the dog though, but my dog is black & white, so most things go. (Though I do avoid designs with brown, I don’t think brown looks good against my dog.)

If I was showing conformation (which will never happen with my current dog), I’d want one that blended in.

I like the ones that are showy. For my black lab I have a collar with different colored flowers on it. I used to have one that was bright purple and had peace signs and pink flowers. It was my fav!
